WHOLESALE LETTER

Letter toWholesalers

Greetings, everyone!

It is hard to believe that we are about to start another harvest season. This past winter held it’s grip on us so long; it was as if spring would never arrive. However once it did, it was a very good growing season. All signs indicate that this year’s crop will be above average in size, very good quality, and a little early.

Last year the sales of our Australian juices surprised all of us. We sold out of most of our imported juices early in the season, and the feedback continues to be positive. In the spring, Rick went to Australia during their harvest and was very impressed with their facilities. This year a brought in even more of the high quality juice. Be sure to order your supply early so you won’t miss out.

There have been some major changes at Walker’s Wine Juice, LLC over the past year. We have updated our fleet of delivery trucks putting three brand new trucks into service. We have finally begun to accept credit card payments for juice purchases. We also have been working on our brand new website which will have new retail and wholesale portals. On the wholesale side, you will be able to see photos of our staff (including the truck drivers that will be delivering to your winery), view our per gallon and hot-pack prices, acid & pH information, and download our purchase order form. You will be required to login to see the wholesale prices. We ask that if you have not already supplied us with your e-mail address, please contact us at winemaker@walkerswinejuice.com. We will be sending your login information via e-mail. If you haven’t received your login information by August 15th, 2018, please e-mail us so that we can get you set up. Please note that the website may still be under construction for a brief time after receiving this letter.

We are offering two new choices to our wholesale customers this year: a 50/50 Vignoles-LaCrescent blend, and Verjus. There continues to be a shortage of Vignoles, while LaCrescent is becoming more available. It is being offered at the same price as LaCrescent in an effort to satisfy the needs of customers who cannot get enough Vignoles. The Verjus is a white juice that is high in acid and void of any distinct character. It is a low cost way of adding acid to another juice without adding flavor. We are offering it to our customers in a wide range of brix from 10 to 21, depending on your needs.

Not all the changed this year have been pleasant. In June, the patriarch of our family business, Richard “Dick” Walker, passed away at the age of 91. He will surely be missed by family, friends, and customers.

Another unpleasant change was the implementation of the government mandated electronic log books. This has resulted in a reduction of hours of service for the drivers. Because of this some drivers chose to retire, while others had to be compensated with pay raises. It is more important now than ever that you have your tanks ready when our drivers are scheduled to arrive. We are asking for your understanding and cooperation with this matter. Subsequently, we will be charging a fee of $30.00 per hour demurrage if our drivers have to wait for more than 30 minutes before starting to unload.

Each year we endeavor to meet the supply requirements of our customers, and this year is no different. In the event that shortages develop, customers that order early and take prompt delivery will be favored. Because of limited tank space, we cannot guarantee having early varieties for delayed delivery. As always, a storage fee of 5 cents per gallon per month will be added for any juices delivered after December 31st.

If you need more information, please feel free to call us on our toll-free number 1-800-842-9463, or email us at jim@walkerswinejuice.com

Sincerely,

The Walkers
